Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was created in April, 2017, with the merger of Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica and Siemens Wind Power and in process becoming the world’s largest Wind Energy Company.
Siemens Gamesa offers Turnkey Solutions, from Planning and Commissioning of Wind Farms to Manufacturing and Maintenance of the Turbines and necessary equipments required.
Project Requirements :
In 2015, With the impending boom of the Indian Wind Sector, Gamesa was faced with an interesting challenge of increasing the workforce of 200 to a hefty 800+ in a short span of less than 12 months.
The raining department of Gamesa wanted a solution that opens door to new mode of training to increase training quality, at the same time cut down training time, cost and risks involved.
XR Labs Solution :
With the real life on site training of wind turbine servicing involving challenges such as logistics cost of training in rural areas where the wind farms are based, Actual physical space constraint of accommodating no more than 3 person at a time inside the nacelle of the WTG to High stakes of human life and millions of dollars worth of equipment, we realised Virtual Reality Training was a huge force multiplier.
We developed a detailed Wind Turbine Onboarding Simulator in Virtual Reality, complete with actual 3D Sounds captured from the locations to ability to take out a component to learn more about it and its place in the WTG System in detail.
