Meta Quest Pro and the Future of Metaverse
A standardized UX and UI framework is a must-have for the success of XR Industry.
Meta Quest did that for VR with its state-of-the-art hand tracking powering the baseline for designing scalable and in turn, multiplatform design language.
Design for a hand-tracking platform, and you don’t have to iterate your design for different controllers of different OEMs.
We XR Labs – The AR VR Company realized this as early as 2016 when we started to include leap motion + vive as the combo for our VR solutions till of course, the release of Meta Quest in 2019.
The Meta Quest Pro ( Project Cambria ) is all set to act as the baseline for AR’s design language.
The Meta Quest Pro is a new high-end mixed reality headset from Meta, Facebook’s parent company, and marks a shift away from more traditional virtual reality into one that blends VR and augmented reality.
Despite being a pass-through AR headset, its field of view, real-world understanding, hand tracking, and processing power makes it the best AR headset in the market today, and we have seen several demos leveraging the AR feature to the full extent, making some of the concept videos come true already.
Better, Lighter, and Faster 5 G-powered true AR devices will ofcourse come up by late 2023
But Meta Quest Pro will be the device that gave us the headstart to consolidate the design language for all XR devices going forward.
In a way, the XR industry cannot thank Meta enough for what they’ve done for the AR and VR ecosystem.
Excited for what the next few years have in store!
Revealed at the Meta Connect 2022 event the Quest Pro looks to go beyond putting you in a fully enclosed virtual world and instead bring the real world around you into your virtual reality experience.
