About the Customer :
Our client is one of the largest industrial conglomerates in India. One of their greenfield initiatives was set up to manufacture precision components to address an increase in demand for electronics and semiconductor Manufacturing.
About the Project:
Our client needed to expand fast to meet the growing demands of the market, and they had to do this keeping in mind that their clients were highly time sensitive, quality conscious, and expected a strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). They faced the challenge of training over 100 workers within a year without a proportional increase in time and cost.
XR Labs Solution :
Our Client contracted XR labs to develop VR training modules to meet their training, quality control, and maintenance needs. XR Labs created a series of VR training modules to train workers on standard safety procedures and on operating CNC machines, which are used to create high-precision components.
The experience was designed for the Meta Quest platform and recreated the entire factory floor in Virtual Reality in order to give workers an immersive and detailed training experience.
Highlights of our Solution:
- VR recreation of the environment and equipment: The environment and concerned equipment were recreated in 3D to give the staff a realistic experience they could relate to
- Hand Tracking: Hand Tracking allowed the staff to get hands-on training experience, without the need of controllers
- Voice and Visual Guides: Voice and Visual guides helped the staff undergo the training on their own, without any external assistance
- Evaluation and Analytics: Our evaluation module reviewed the trainees’ performance and shared relevant metrics such as training duration, evaluation scores, and more with the training head
